The Annual Stella Artois Iron Chef Tucson competition is the premiere culinary challenge of the year and Danny Perez, Executive Chef at the J.W. Marriott is the 2015-2016 title holder.
Chef Javier Castro of Casino Del Sol Resort was the winner of the popular vote in Tucson to compete against Danny for the title of 2016 Iron Chef Tucson!
On Sunday, June 26th, the chefs met and competed at the 10th Annual Iron Chef Tucson. Just like the TV Show;
- The chefs faced off in a serious culinary battle using the surprise secret ingredient, chocolate.
- Commentators give play-by-plays of what the finalists were doing while a crowed of hundreds watched.
- A guest panel of (3) judges sampled the end results, and scored each dish based on flavor, presentation, creativity, and use of the secret ingredient (chocolate.)
Both chefs performed in outstanding fashion, but only one can be proclaimed the winner and when the votes were tallied, Chef Danny Perez walked away with the title of Iron Chef Tucson for the second year in a row,
